About the Author
In 1949 Robert became involved in bushwalking at the age of 13. He used to wander off with his Corgi exploring the area now known as "Illawong." In 1980 he moved his family to Colo Vale, near Mittagong. He became enthralled with the bushwalking potential of the Nattai Valley with its incredible beauty and vast variety of flora and fauna. He knew this to be a bushwalker's paradise.
In 1988 he cleared and marked a 50 kilometre walking route from Mittagong down the Nattai Valley to Beloon Pass. Robert then inaugurated and led the first Katoomba to Mittagong Bi-Centennial Walk.
After successfully leading some 100 walkers along the Katoomba to Mittagong track during 1988/89 Robert published the Ensign Barrallier Guide Book in 1990. It is now in its 3rd edition (revised). The Ensign Barrallier Guide Book has been followed by a further 11 guide books.
Robert now lives in the village of Thirlmere. He still researches and clears walking tracks for his publications with his good mate "Rosy."
The cost of each guide book is $15. This price includes postage.
